The Crossed Swords:

The Crossed Swords is the stunt fighting team of Nicole Harsch and Mike Sakuta that has played many small parts in Star of the Guardians over the years. Not only did the team give advice on the fight scenes in the series but they are also the artists for many of the Star of the Guardians Collectible Card Game cards. Additionally they have cameos in Mag Force 7's Robot Blues as the characters of Professor Michael Sakuta and Nick Harsch and they played Maigrey and Sagan in a stunt fight at the first and only Star of the Guardians convention in the early '90s. You can also find them on the covers of two Dragonlance novels: The Cataclysm, Tales Vol. V and The Reign of Istar, Tale II Trilogy, Vol. One, both of which were contributed to by Margaret Weis with Tracey Hickman. For both covers they modeled for two characters that were then drawn by Dragonlance artist Larry Elmore. Crossed Swords currently, in addition to work as a stunt choreography team, runs The Swordmark Company where you can purchase armor, swords, daggers, and sealing wax supplies. They can also be found at many large sci-fi and fantasy conventions throughout the world where they put on fantastic stunt fight shows and sell all of their great swords and accessories. At two past shows they were also kind enough to meet with a few of us from the site and discuss their roles in the series. We also managed to snap some photos and had them sign a few of the cards that they created for the ccg. During our discussions they filled us in on many of the little known facts and name origins that you can find in our reference section and even revealed that there was once a Star of the Guardians convention in which, as mentioned, they did a stunt show as Maigrey and Sagan. They are a joy to meet and any fan of Star of the Guardians or of stunt fighting in general should make an effort to see them at a future convention.
